We enjoyed a great Labor Day yesterday. I hope you and your family did as well. We still had school. I had it scheduled on the calendar as a school day for us, but we weren't planning on doing any math. That worked out good. Instead, we got caught up on some science and reading that we skipped while we were sick (the stomach virus spent two weeks at our house visiting each family member). Now we are caught up on everything. I'm glad that I built some cushion days into the schedule.
Once the bulk of the chores were done yesterday, school work was completed, lunch was eat, and supper was cooked...we headed out for a trip. We rode over an old covered bridge that was built in 1930-something and still in operation today. We parked on the other side and walked down to the river. It was beautiful! The kids liked walking the trails in the woods. We pretended we found dinosaur tracks and made up fake dinosaur names. On the way home, we stopped for ice-cream. (Thank you Cassie!) Yes, that ruined the kids supper, but that's okay.
Ahhh! It was a great day. I enjoyed being with my family. They are wonderful!
I made out our September meal plan, so if you need some inspiration for your own family, visit the link here or under the "Cooking" tab.
Have a great week!
